Your Guide to Forklift Attachments

Forklift carton clamp and rotator attachments

Attachments give your forklift versatility

You can turn your lift equipment in to the Swiss Army Knife of your company with the right forklift attachment(s). Where you might have needed specialized equipment with different maintenance needs or fuel costs, a humble attachment can help you reduce costs and increase productivity.

Carton Clamps

You can’t store everything in your warehouse on pallets. And you shouldn’t. Appliances and electronics are too large to store on pallets but too heavy and cumbersome for other lifting methods. Others such as paper and food products may not fare well when strapped down. That’s where the carton clamps come in. The parallel plates of the carton clamp holds everything in place and provides equal weight distribution to reduce damage to your products.

There are many variations of carton clamps for very specific applications, such as tight spaces, vehicle loading, and more.

Rotators

These attachments are primarily found anywhere food and agriculture is handled. Harvesting fruits and vegetables is a hard job and forklifts with rotator attachments ease that burden of getting the foods from the fields to the processing centers. Built with bins in mind, they often include a way of holding the loading container safely so that it doesn’t slide or come loose during the rotation procedure. Some are capable of rotating the load a full 180 degrees so that every last drop Rotators can be used outside of agriculture, on construction sites or sites with no room or need for multiple pieces of equipment.

Push/Pulls

If you store crates or packages with slipsheets between them or plan to, the push/pull attachment will save you time and keep your product safe. Push/pull attachments have large, wide forks (or platens) to support the cargo with the most weight distribution possible. The backrest is pantographic, just like a reach truck, but includes a gripper that can hold tight to the slipsheet and pull it and the items on top, onto the platens. If your site uses both slipsheets and pallets, there are variants that can bring the platens together to work as standard forks.
